Thanks to a dear old friend

Yesterday was not our day here in the Wilcox residence! One thing after another was just not going our way. It all started on a warm summer morning.............

Miranda woke up and decided to blog about her crazy hospital bill that she got in the mail. Steven, her husband, and Tanner, her son were sleeping soundly in bed.

Miranda finished blogging, took a shower and all of a sudden a knock was heard on the door, "Knock, Knock, Knock!" She did not know who that could possibly be so she hurried up, got dressed and opened the door, only to find it was her annoying neighbor who is loud like a mariachi band.

The Mexican lady had her grandson with her to interpret to me, "Sheeeee seid that syour carrrrr........" Miranda looks at them irritated because it is taking him 10 hours to spit it out. The little boy continues, "syour usbands carrrrr........ ets amos 8:00...... they r cumming......" Miranda thought, "What the heck were they talking about?" Then the grandmother said, "TICKET!!!!" Since Miranda had a baby about two weeks ago she had forgotten what day of the week it was. In Glendale if a car is parked on the wrong side of the street, on the wrong day and time, tickets are given to every car parked!!!

Miranda rushed out to find Steven's car to be the only car parked in the street with a bright green ticket stuffed in the door jam! Miranda said, "50 freaking dollars just to park a car on the street! OH BLLLURGG........"

Miranda came back into the house and left the ticket on Steven's chest so he will have a good morning present when he wakes up.

The day continues somewhat okay, Miranda is busy cleaning and Steven comes in and said really slowly, "Do you remember anything happening to the computer?" Miranda said,"What do you mean anything happening?" Steven replied,"I can't opened any of my projects! I think I am going to be sick :X!!" Steven and Miranda run to the computer to find all of his projects that he has been working so hard and diligent on for the past three months and been all corrupted! None of the files will open, and they all say there is no content on ANYTHING!!!

Just then the door bell rang,"DING DONG!" Miranda, feeling pretty sick to her stomach, woozily walks to the door to find her best friend and standing there with her three kids! What a sight of relief!!

Michelle Palmer is her name! Miranda has know Michelle for about 15 years and she had been there for her through thick and thin. For months during Miranda's pregnancy Michelle was waiting for the day to throw Miranda a baby shower but to no avail she was beaten to the punch! During the time of Miranda's baby shower, given by another friend of hers, Michelle's life was been pretty hectic and unfortunately had to miss her shower!

Michelle and her kids greeting Steven, Miranda, and Tanner with a warm hello. They made themselves at home and Michelle announced, "I was SOOO upset that I could not throw you a shower! I was ready to bring out my crystal plates and would have given you the best shower in the world! SOOOO we drove an hour to come see you guys and to also bring the shower to you!!!!" Miranda laughed soooooo hard in appreciation for this wonderful act of kindness. Michelle said,"So.....I will set up your shower while you are feeding Tanner!" Michelle pulls out items from her bag of many tricks, she describes, "We have a light snack (chips and dip), fun and games, presents, and desert!!"

We start snacking on the chips and the fun and games begin.....

Miranda's heart swelled with much appreciation for this wonderful shower! It was the best shower anyone could ask for! After the shower they all reminisced about the good old days of playing buttons and stinky feet! What a joy to finally feel after having a rough patch in the morning! Sadly the time came for them to go home, but there presence, no pun intended, there will forever remain!

Steven, Miranda and Tanner continued on their quest to retrieve any data from the computer but no word or luck was in their favor! :(

That evening Tanner had a bubble in his tummy and was having a hard time resting. Daddy stayed up with him till 4:00a.m. trying to sooth his ache. Finally Tanner calms down while Miranda changes his diaper, when she hears a, "CRASH,BOOM,BANG!" and a "OH, CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Miranda runs in the bedroom to see the full glass of water was knocked over and spilled across the computer table! Steven quickly tries to soak up the water! The little family of three was SOOOOO tired and SOOOOO stressed that they just called it quits and went to sleep!
