SSSSSsssss...

Last Sunday I was getting ready for church, enjoying my morning until my mom started screaming. I run over to her as she ran inside the house. "What's is it?" I asked her. Then I heard the nastiest sound I have heard in a long time.... thdthdthdthdthd.... It was really loud! My mom said, "It's outside." Two feet from the house was a coiled up rattle snake hissing like there was no tomorrow. My blood pressure went though the roof and could not believe that rattle snakes get that big! I grew up in this house and have NEVER seen a snake this freakishly big, 15 rattles!! The snake was getting more upset, my mom said, "Ok...STOP looking at him hes going to strike!" As I peered more outside Lucky, our cat, was pushed up against the wall not even a foot away from the snake's evil glare!!!! The snake was coiled up taller than our full grown cat, and the snakes tail was straight up to the sky.  "WHAT DO WE DO???" I yelled... My mom closed her eyes, with he hand on her mouth said quietly, "There's nothing we can do now." My heart just DROPPED!!!

We have been through SOOO many animals living here, but they have all just "disappeared" and we always tell ourselves that some family picked them up and are in a good home.  Ignorance is bliss I suppose because when I looked at this pissed off snake, right in eye, my body shut itself off and  became NUMB, knowing that I was about to hear something devastating! "What do we do? what do we do, what do we do!!??" I kept saying over and over. I though, "Okay... if he were to get struck where can we take him, how can we help him?" My mom said, "It's OVER... you can't help Lucky... he's gone.." I peered through another window to see this car crash about to happen when I see this HUGE dead rat between them. Now it's making sence, the snake thinks Lucky is going to take his food.

I'm such an animal lover so started to "coach" Lucky and yelled, "COME ON YOU STUPID CAT!!!! GET AWAY!!! YOU STUPID CAT!!!" He must have listened because a few minutes later Lucky scootched along side the wall and slowly walked backwards until he was a few feet away from the door.  I opened the door and coxed him inside, and he ran in!! I CAN'T believe he got away!!! I don't know how that happened? But I am so happy that he did. Anyway... once I got my mind straight we got the camera and shot these pictures. I really wish I would have got the whole saga on video, but if it turned out with a dead cat I would have been horrified. When Breanna started taking pictures the snake chilled out and starting eating his last supper! BLURG!! DISGUSTING!!
So my dad gets his gun out and shot that sucker, it took a few times but got him. My dad is so brave... Then he took off the head, and buried it. The grosses part was that my dad threw the rest of the snake out in the fields, and when we came back from church it was back in our front yard!!! NASTY, NASTY, NASTY!!
