San Diego

Six years in the making!! Yes, Steven and I have been married for six years. I can't believe it. We have been through so much and I have enjoyed every minute spending it with Steven. Every anniversary we are just 'too busy' to do anything, so this year I put my foot down and we dropped everything and drove to San Diego. Thanks to Grammy and Pops, Tanner was able to have a  sleepover as we went away without a care in the world!

When we checked in to our hotel Friday night the receptionist said, "Oh, it looks like you got a complementary up grade..."  I looked around to see if there was someone behind me and said, "WHAT?... for what?" We had to post pone our trip a week ago and they did not have our room available so they put us in the suite. I asked how much it is a night if we were to pay for it and it was $280 a night. SWEET!!! We got the room for practically nothing. Thank you Marriott! :)

That night we went out to dinner here...

Check out the cheese on this pizza!!
Total guilt trip after I ate a slice.

But it was yummy, non the less...

The next morning I woke up at 7am feeling like I had a rock in my stomach and realized I needed to run part of it off. Got in the car while Steven was still sleeping and tried to head for the beach. I drove until I saw water and ended up at Mission Bay. Ran the 5.5 mile trail, heaven!!!

I took some pictures while I ran and stored my camera in my bra.

I got home from my run to take a picture of our suite aaannnndddd..... it was fogged up.
It took a couple hours for it to dry out. It did add a cool effect.

Later that morning we checked out of our sweet suite hotel and went to a Mexican restaurant (to bring back memories of our honeymoon in Cabo) and drove to the beach and chowed down. We forgot forks so we ate with our hands! We looked like little oinkers.

So we only had 20 minutes to sit on the beach because we were scheduled to so some sealings at the temple, and for those who know me pretty well you get a kick out of this one... I got burnt...AGAIN. WHY?? I can't imagine what would have happened to me if we would have been there all day.

What a beautiful day to spend at the temple. It was such a spiritual and sacred experience. Its such a blessing to be able to escape from the world and enjoy the beauty inside the temple. I am so blessed to have a forever family and to know that we are sealed for time and all eternity. Steven and I sat on the same bench we sat in right before we were married and talked about the last six years.

We both could not help but feel our son Austin's spirit there in the temple. The peace was so amazing that I cried and told Steven that I don't ever want to leave. To feel Austin was such a great gift for our anniversary. We love you Austin and can't wait to be with you again.

Then we talked about Tanner and is quirky little smile he has for us every morning when we wake up, shoulders up, head tilted to the right, bottom jaw pulled to the left. Oh, how I love that kid!! He is such a joy and a blessing to have in our lives. Talking about him made me miss him dearly and decided to call our anniversary adventure to a close.
